Interpretive Coordinator

The Afton Museum has an opening for a part time / temporary position as our Interpretive Coordinator. This person will support our recently funded Interpretive Plan project.

  1. This position starts immediately and will end on December 31st, 2024.
  2. Qualifications:
    1. Works well with others including outside consultants and their project managers.
    2. Has good organization skills.
    3. Must have a good understanding of the museum’s collection, procedures, and policies.
    4. Flexible schedule.
    5. Good understanding of Microsoft Office 365 tools like Outlook, Word, and Excel.
    6. Strong understanding and working knowledge of PastPerect museum software.
  3. Duties will include (but not limited to):
    1. Will coordinate off-site workshops.
    2. Create advertising and mailings to solicit attendees for focus group workshops.
    3. Respond to requests from outside consultant for information, reports, and materials.
    4. Research the museum’s collection as requested by the outside consultant.
  4. The hourly rate is $30.00 per hour.
  5. The total time allotted for the project is 252 hours.
